CAE/FEA Design Engineer II REMOTE JOB

ACS Group has an immediate need for a [CAE/FEA Design Engineer II] with experience in CATIA. This is a [6] months contract opportunity and is located in [New Hudson, MI -Remote]. Our client is a leading [Defense] company.

Description:
OVERVIEW: Mid-level design engineer with core responsibilities including product and system design and development. The main focus will be mechanical system design using CAD and structural analysis (FEA), supported by systems modeling to substantiate the lower-level decisions. This position's responsibilities will span from initial concepts through detailed drawing execution while working within a project team under the review of a design team lead. System-level design responsibility is expected in this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SKILLS:
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Vehicle and Product System Design & Development
    o System physics modeling and characterization
    o CAD system and component concept development and packaging
    o Application of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization
    o Technical drawing generation
    o Prepare and present project status reports
    o Test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R)
  • Project Support
    o Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE and project management skills
    o Prepare technical specifications for use by Pratt & Miller Engineering
    o Develop testing methods and procedures for use by Pratt & Miller Engineering
    o Investigate alternative business opportunities
    o Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs
    o Investigate alternative business opportunities
    o Present results to and take direction from external customers

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
    ? Minimum 3yrs engineering employment experience
    ? BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent field
    ? Experience in parametric 3D modeling and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
    ? Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills
    ? US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required
    ? Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)

    DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Experience in parametric 3D modeling and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
