We currently an opportunity for an Computer Electronics Engineer to join our team in Dayton, OH, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), working with our customer at the Biodynamics Section of the Biomedical Impact of Flight Branch, 711th Human Performance Wing.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide hands-on technical support for laboratory and remote-site instrumentation and data acquisition system set-up, operation, and troubleshooting.
Prepare, calibrate, fabricate, and modify electronic and mechanical sensors (linear and angular accelerometers, rate sensors, load cells. strain gauges etc.) and systems for in-house and external laboratory human and crash-dummy impact acceleration and vibration test programs.
Collect biodynamic response data at remote-site windblast and rocket sled test facilities involving out-of-state travel of approximately 10-15 weeks per year.
Use data acquisition system (DAS) software packages for sensor set-up and data collection.
Work closely with Air Force and outside customers to ensure all technical program specifications are met in a timely manner.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least 2 years of related experience. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity category. Candidates with advanced degrees or varied levels of experience may be considered for alternative classification.).
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information: able to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance.
Ability to work with diverse team of engineering and technical personnel.
Proficiency in use and application of standard data collection software packages such as MATLAB.
Good computer, analytical, and English communication skills, and proficiency organizing and generating data documentation logs.
