Description:Chassis/Vehicle Controls Engineer will be responsible for supporting air management & suspension control system related functional growth, verifying the functional requirements are satisfied and troubleshooting various development trucks. Focus on air management & suspension control system function integration for various vehicle applications including conventional heavy duty, refuse, electromobility, autonomous vehicles etc. Specific activities will include: * Responsible for specific functional growth and maintenance in the necessary vehicle controllers. * Support air management & suspension control system team by maintaining and verifying the functional requirements in the necessary platform. * Support technical decisions on subsystem/component level with global and cross-functional alignment * Collaborate with cross-functional teams for best practices in adapting air management & suspension control system functions for North American market * Define necessary functional requirement to support of new vehicle features and technology * Actively work with the verification and validation engineers to troubleshoot and verify and the functional performance. * Implement novel solutions on development trucks to meet functional safety targets at early stage in the project. * Responsible for troubleshooting development trucks. * Coordinates and consults with departments outside engineering as needed * Support periodic maintenance and upgrade of the development trucks owned by vehicle control systems team to meet the project deliverables * Front-load function adaptation work to support robust early-stage releases and stable late stage engineering releases to meet North American standards. * Engage in networking across the organization, as well as influencing the work in other sites * Release components as applicable to resolve maintenance issues or secure project deliveries * Communicate active project deliveries during daily team meetings * Develop and share acquired competence (e.g. training) and provide technical advice * Be part of implementing and develop processes as necessary

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical with Control Systems Experience)
Required Competencies:

Required Experience, Skills, Training:
* Minimum 3-5 years Electrical Engineering Experience or similar
* Understand Automotive System Electrical and Electronic Architecture
* Understand plant (Chassis) modelling strategies and real-time control system models
* Prior experience in troubleshooting vehicles via Controller Area Network (CAN)
* Understanding in vehicle Controller Area Network (CAN) communication
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training
* Experience in using CANAnalyzer or similar software
* Understand Vehicle dynamics and Pneumatic valves
* Experience in verification and validation-based development (HIL/MIL/Rapid prototyping/In Vehicle testing)
* Experience in Automotive Simulation Models (ASM) and/or MATLAB / Simulink
* Understanding of Systems Engineering Based Vehicle Development
* Understanding of pneumatics system for heavy duty trucks and associated pneumatics
