LyondellBasell's Houston Refinery, one of the largest refineries designed to process heavy, high-sulfur crude oil is in search of a Construction Coordinator. Our 268,000-barrel-per-day refinery is strategically located on the U.S. Gulf Coast with access to interstate pipelines and the Port of Houston. The facility covers approximately 700 acres at the city limits of Houston and Pasadena, Texas. The Houston Refinery was one of the first petroleum refineries constructed on the Houston Ship Channel and traces its origin to 1918. The Construction Coordinator is a direct-hire position with a competitive salary, bonus, 401K matching and benefits package.Roles & Responsibilities
Creates and supports a GoalZERO culture and ensures that projects are executed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
Coordinate work force to meet project demands and provide updates to the Program Manager/Team Lead
Partner with Reliability department to determine repair scope based on inspection findings
Coordinator all aspects of Projects to execute scope set by engineering and inspection
Direct project execution in the field
Develop cost estimates and schedule for scope execution
Monitor and approve contractor's time in refinery
Work closely with Cost Leads to assist in approving service entries, forecasts and accruals
Provide feedback to Purchasing based on contractor's performance
Assists in development of procurement and contracting strategy
Participate in contract bid process including site visits to contractor's sites
Facilitate contractor time, material, and damage disputes
Coordinate and audit contractor work execution in the field
Review job packages in advance of work being scheduled
Assist in the permit process for all contractor work
Ensure proper document controls are followed
Document contractor performance and schedule delays
Communicate effectively across all work groups in the Refinery
Execute Management of Change (MOC) requirements as necessary
Ensure knowledge of and compliance with LYB safety policies and procedures
Comply with applicable environmental regulations
Ability to adapt to changing environment and priorities
Knowledge of API standards applicable to Tank Fabrication
Be self-motivated, able to use sound judgment in day to day decision making
Background in inspection, construction, and/or project management
Ability to efficiently present information to diverse audiences
Ability to work with others from different social, ethnical and organizational backgrounds.
Must be self motivated and have ability and willingness to work with a team, take directions with a high degree of attention to details and adhere to established work schedules

High School Graduate with a minimum of 10 years' experience in Storage Tank fabrication, repairs, and/or Inspection in the Refining or Petrochemical industry. Degree in Construction Management is a plus.
Experience in supervising maintenance crafts or coordination of maintenance contractors is a requirement.
Effective leadership skills.
Coach and provide feedback to achieve performance improvement.
Computer skills; Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
