Manage material cost optimization of newvehicle lines as well as running series changes. Initiate continuousimprovement activities to achieve cost targets. Ensure cost competitiveness ofthe local purchased parts.
EssentialFunctions: (List all basic responsibilities related tothe purpose of the position)
Responsible for Cost Management of local purchased parts in accordancewith the Daimler reference cost calculation. Generate measures for the optimizationof product and cost in alignment with the relevant partner, as Development,Purchasing, Quality, Finance and Logistics.
Responsible for verification and negotiation of additional material costclaims in the ramp up phases for local vehicle car lines.
Drive and steer continuous improvement efforts of local supplierprocesses to increase cost efficiency while achieving and maintaining partquality and capacity needs.
Conduct analysis within the US market of raw materials, machine tacttime, labor costs, and production equipment investments to support the ProductCost Engineering department in Germany regarding input factors for thereference calculation.
Support localization, deep localization and negation activities for thelocal purchasing team including validation of capacity and technical changes,tooling, fixed and variable costs.
Align and network within the global Cost Engineering hubs in the Daimlerorganization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
