Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and operation of the cyber security tools to ensure the security of MBUSI shop floor IT assets.   This includes completing cyber threat analysis, determining risk minimizing measures, scheduling of such measures, and indicating/ reporting any risks that arise from the non-implementation.

 
 
Essential Functions
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of Shop Floor IT Security Toolboxes for all Shop Floor IT equipment.  This includes the continuing toolbox development for new projects, applications, technological, or strategic initiatives.  
 
Communicate Cyber Security requirements throughout the plant.  Verify the compliance in all departments, in accordance with global Daimler IT standards and strategic direction.  Maintain an active monitoring/oversight function for all shop floor PCs to ensure compliance with the plan.
 
Coordinate the systems used to operate the Shop Floor Cyber Security services/tools.  Analyze security data and make recommendations for mediating any security issues found.
 
Responsible for working with IT department to define shop floor technology PCs and Operating System (OS) life cycle, and for developing plans for system protection and security associated with them.  These plans will include OS patching, virus protection, whitelisting, upgrades, firmware updates, refurbishments, and replacements as required.
 
Lead Shop Floor IT Security projects and participate as a project team member on other IT projects as required.  Provide cost/effort estimates to deliver IT Security based goods and services when needed.  Develop procurement proposals for systems and services, analyze vendor responses, assist with vendor selection, and procure needed goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.  Includes design reviews, and buy-off support.
 
Responsible for Shop Floor IT Service Continuity Management process.  Generate disaster recovery plans with the assistance of infrastructure experts.  Assist with the generation of application recovery plans where required and analyze their effectiveness.  Schedule and ensure periodic reviews and tests of plans are performed.
 
 
Responsible for Internal Controls of IT systems where required.  This includes responsibility for risk analysis and reporting within corporate systems.
 
Provide expert level support when needed on incidents and problems with production equipment.  Participate in cross discipline task forces when required to analyze major issues. 
 
Analyze proposed changes to systems and approve their implementation as required.  Ensure changes are tested before rolling them out, and that any change is communicated to, and supported by the shop.  Coordinate any approved changes to the IT infrastructure when required.   
 
Responsible for managing outsourcing activities, including the selection of key service providers, and their quality assurance and cost KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
 
Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, related Daimler standards, and participate in global working groups to provide for continuous improvements and sharing information.
 
Responsible for weekend and shutdown work activities related to shop floor PCs, including coordinating/supporting contractor and maintenance activities.

Responsible for communicating with equipment suppliers the plant needs and standards for cyber security project deliverables.
 
Development and implementation of training programs as related to the shop floor Cyber Security needs.  Deliver training when appropriate.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
 
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, related area or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
 
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Security, including shop floor devices.
 
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:  
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Windows XP Pro, Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2012 Server.
Well-developed analytical skills and sound business judgement.
Ability to think strategically and establish direction;
Team player with ability to resolve issues both business and technical.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to adapt and adjust to changing schedules to meet project requirements and milestones.
Technically competent with various software programs, such as MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Solid working knowledge of current IT Security Concepts, Tools, and Methods
 
Preferred Skills
Bilingual English and German

Ability to diagnose PC/server performance issues, and develop/implement plans to improve the performance. This includes hardware, networks and/or software.
