Description/Comment:

Job Summary:

The Data Engineer will be responsible for the development of a data warehouse modernization project from on-premise systems to Cloud solutions. The role reports to DPEP, Technology & Digital, Information Advantage team.

Candidate should have experience in end-to-end BI and Analytics Cloud warehouse projects, spanning data collection, processing/transformations, modeling, and consumption. Experience with the Google Cloud platform and integrating data warehouses with commerce (Salesforce) and order management (Sterling) systems a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with technical leads and various development teams to execute the modernization of an on-premise data warehouse to Cloud infrastructure

• Develop an end-to-end data platform to support consumer products analytics, laying a foundation for omnichannel strategies

• Develop on large-scale enterprise BI/Analytics/Reporting applications

• Build and maintain ELT/ETL scripts that support various data pipelines and data integrations across multiple data sources

• Build and maintain a unified data model that aligns with business strategies and answers business questions

• Integrate the data warehouse with data visualization tools for the business to easily access and consume data

• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, test, and develop solutions independently

• Iterate on regular sprint cycles with frequent releases to a large community of internal users

• Understand and adhere to development and documentation standards, database design and storage

• Document data schemas and dictionaries

• Implement process improvements impacting own work and work of others

• Partner with Business Systems Analyst and Product Manager to understand business requirements; actively question and challenge to understand requirements to reach the best near term and long term solutions

• Self-starter capable of being accountable for own tasks, scope, and priorities

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

• 3+ years developing business intelligence and data warehousing projects, 1+ year(s) of developing with Cloud infrastructure

Skills Required:

• Experience working with Cloud as infrastructure (Google/AWS) or other Cloud platform based on IaaS and PaaS Solutions

• Experience with Google BigQuery, App Engine, Dataflow, Cloud Storage highly desirable

• Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL and Web Services

• Experience with Code Management/CICD tools like GITHub and Jenkins

• Experience with task automation using UNIX shell scripting

• Experience integrating data warehouses with data visualization tools (MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau)
