Deskside Technician II

Job Description

Due to the necessity of frequent face-to-face interactions with our end-users, only candidates who are fully compliant with the COVID-19 vaccination will be considered for this position. What will you do?

Our client is looking for a Deskside Technician with experience supporting a Windows 10, Windows 7. New hire builds, and break/fix resolution are the main job duties. This will be a very hands on position and candidates must be willing to crawl under desks while being professional. The candidate will interact with customers on a daily basis and must have sharp organizational and communication skills in order to schedule customer visits and meet the target time given to complete tasks. Be detail oriented with ticket notes and updating assets. This candidate must be able to work independently as well as working closely with a team.

This position is for 8am to 5pm for the primary shift.

There will be ''On-Call'' rotation with the other tech for nights and weekends.Supporting IT equipment in large corporate environmentDesktop/laptop tech support (Windows Pc's)Windows 7/10 operating systemsSupport mobile devices, printers, scanners, wireless, VPN, etc.IMAC Support - IT equipment Install/Move/Add/ChangeMaintain repairs, spare parts, and componentsResearch and troubleshoot problemsMaintain system configurations and documentationTrack and resolve customer incidents and requests through the client's ticketing toolTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for Windows devicesBackup, restoration, and migration of user dataSmart Hands support with networking, server, and telecommunications technologiesPrinter and peripheral device supportInventory management of IT assets including asset auditingAbility to research and follow appropriate KB articlesAbility to work on-call and other after-hours support needsMay provide Executive supportVarious other tasks associated with deskside servicesMay need to be available to provide support at other client locations as neededOther duties as assigned

  • New hire build setups and replacement of PC's that require it.
  • Complete and troubleshoot Data Migration from old pc to new pc when doing replacements.
  • Test and clean PCs, laptops and other related hardware as needed.
  • Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot software and computer peripherals as needed.
  • Set up, configure and add all required hardware during upgrade or replacements.
  • Restore all user and configuration data from user's backup.
  • Provide technical support to end users via telephone or at their desk.
  • Assure that all tickets requiring follow up work and/or calls are resolved to closure within target SLA's.
  • Assist in researching and documenting improvements to processes upon discovery.
  • Assist coworkers in resolution of end users' technical issues post migration.
  • Assist with inventory and disposals when needed.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
