Division Director for the County Systems Division of the Miami-Dade County Information Technology Department. Responsible for implementation, development and maintenance of applications supporting enterprise systems for Miami-Dade County. The division staff supports functional, technical and organizational components of existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) supporting Water & Sewer and Aviation, Enterprise Asset Management (EAMS), Enterprise Document Management (ECM), eCommerce and other miscellaneous back office systems. These applications enable effective county management of operations and extends services to over 2.7 million citizens, businesses, and visitors. Staff consists of approximately 50 developers, analysts, and managers with diverse technical, analytic and managerial skills. The Division Director will have the responsibility to motivate, manage and provide leadership to a team of IT managers and their teams. The incumbent will work within and across departments to ensure that IT is aligned with the business to deliver on their IT project priorities. Will also provide leadership in best practices and is highly customer focused, will manage and motivate staff to grow and ensure that delivery is consistent with customer expectations. He/she will prepare strategic plans for technology to position the organization to leverage the enterprise solutions and to migrate from legacy applications.
This position entails managing large enterprise solutions, operational service delivery, business process improvement, financial management, managing organizational change, negotiating and contracts management, and motivating and mentoring the team. This senior-level position applies strong business acumen, technical knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills.
This position entails the following:
** Personnel management, project management, and budget management.
** Supervising a team of workers, while working closely with IT and business management and staff as well as external vendors
** Preparing financial budgets and presenting proposals for capital and operational budgets to customers and senior executives
** Overseeing application projects, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and priorities
** Leading efforts to improve IT processes
This position applies the ability to implement the strategic goals and objectives of the division including the areas of succession planning, performance measurement and financial controls; assist executive management with+ direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization's philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives; provide customer service support for a wide variety of customers dispersed in many locations. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are preferred.
