IST has an outstanding opportunity for an Oxygen Systems Electrical / Computer Engineer.
Essential Job Functions:
In this role you will be involved with an altitude simulation environment related to avionic oxygen systems research, testing, and development.
You will conduct analyses of pilot performance as relates to oxygen deprivation using state-of-the-art intrumentation.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline and at least 2 years of related experience. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity category. Candidates with advanced degrees or varied levels of experience may be considered for alternative classification.)
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: NAC.
Experience with measurement and control instrumentation, including pressure transducers, thermocouples, flowmeters, mass spectrometers, pressure controllers, and flow controllers.
Experience with LabVIEW data acquisition and control software, MATLAB data processing / presentation software, MS Windows and standard Microsoft Office products.
Although not firm requirements, we feel an ideal applicant may bring the following desired attributes:
Understanding of aircraft oxygen systems and the importance of oxygen systems safety.
Experience with NIST traceable calibration methodologies.
Familiarity with aircrew life support equipment (LSE).
Understanding of fundamental computer network operations.
Understanding of vacuum and pneumatic systems.
