Populus Group seeks an Electrical Engineer at various unanticipated client locations throughout the US to provide electrical engineering for equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for electrical utilities; create intricate design drawings for utility distribution lines; analyze and update existing drawings based on current status, and create new drawings based on new engineered projects; prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements; perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards or specifications; prepare specifications for purchases of materials and equipment; estimate labor, material, and construction costs for budget preparation purposes; inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications, and compliance with operational, safety, or environmental standards; design electrical systems and components that minimize electric energy requirements; and utilize the following in completion of the above duties: Meter Data Management (MDM), CC&B, Operational Device Management (ODM), DataRaker, ALM, Landis and Gyr Command Center, SharePoint, SharePoint Designer, InfoPath Designer, JIRA, and EnergyIP. Must have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or foreign equivalent, and at least 6 months of experience in the job offered or substantially similar position performing all the above listed duties.
