Require Skills: Have a minimum of five years of experience as a digital electronics technician. Possess hands-on knowledge and experience with the electrical and mechanical operation and repair of electronic products and general electrical / mechanical assemblies. Must be able to pass IPC J –STD-001 certification and a solder proficiency test. Proficient using electrical and mechanical drawings (schematics, assembly drawings and parts list/BOMs). Possess the communication skills necessary to accurately communicate redesign, repair or other technical changes. Must be able to travel and support offsite test activities. Proficient using specialized test equipment and unit under test reconfiguration to support integration and qualification activities.
Desired Skills: 10 years or more of experience as a digital electronics technician. Designs components or portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilize computer-aided design equipment, develop basic data, and generate preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes. Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
