As a Staff Engineer, you will plan and conduct complex engineeringwork requiring the application of non-standard and creative techniques,procedures, and criteria. Plan, direct, coordinateand control engineering efforts and provide expert analysis regarding thedesign, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Assignments are broad in nature but potentiallyhave a high impact on the organization.
Reporting directly to the Director of Electronic Controls, thisposition is based in New Port Richey, Florida.
Resolves highly complex technical issues and may conductadvanced research on relevant projects and programs.
Recommends alterations to development and design to improvequality of products and/or procedures.
Performs highly technical engineering work including materialselection, structural requirements, tolerances, aesthetics and testing.
Provides oversight and routine direction to less experiencedstaff.
- Evaluates interface among hardware, software,operational and performance requirements.
- Analyzes system and software requirements todetermine feasibility of design.
- Installs and monitors software system to ensureoperation in accordance with specifications.
- Develops training manuals in the use of new ormodified control systems and software.
- May represent the organization in outsidediscussions and technical forums.
- Possesses and applies advanced knowledge in thearea of specialization
- Experiencewith a systems development life cycle model (e.g. systems analysis,requirements gathering)
- LINUX (device driver experience a plus) and other embedded OS experience(e.g. FreeRTOS
- Strong object-orienteddesign skills
Experience incommunications bus technologies such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, CAN and Modbus a plus
Experiencenegotiating with, and coordinating the output of, geographically and culturallydiverse development teams
Outstandingcommunication and presentation abilities
High quality organizationaland leadership skills
IoT experiencea plus
Experiencearchitecting reusable frameworks for equipment control
Structure andbehavior- Expect to have to train this
Excellentknowledge of UML, SysML and other modeling methods-graphical language
Experience in event-basedcontrols systems
Strong C/C++programming language skills

Working withwide latitude for unreviewed action or decision, plans, conducts and/or directsresearch and/or development work on complex projects requiring the originationand application of new and unique approaches.
Confers with customer regarding control systemand software maintenance.
Designs and implements testing methodology;prepares and maintains documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Software) and a minimumof 7 years of professional experience required
Ability to travel 15% of the time
Knowledgeable of a broad array of engineeringprinciples, practices and procedures in a field of specialization.
Considered an expert in one or more engineeringspecialties.
Routinely performs the most challengingassignments with significant latitude for unreviewed action.
Uses advanced techniques, modification andextension of theories, precepts, and practices of the field and relatedsciences and disciplines.
Normal office or lab environment. May be required to lift up to 50 Lbs.
