Purpose of Job
Responsible for coordinating activities of mechanical and industrial engineers for new model development and launch into mass production. The resulting process must meet customer quality, capacity, and delivery requirements as well as company targets for cost. Additional duties include continuous improvement activities for process capability and cost reduction.

Major Duty / Responsibility of Job1.25%•Oversee a team of design engineers to ensure the successful launch of new programs using best-in-class design engineering principles, process flow and PFMEA tools, and APQP methodology, while balancing pressures from labor requirements, cycle times, and tooling & equipment availability and development timelines. 2.20%
•Assist manager with capital and expense budgeting, capital project application, and cost tracking. Approve purchase requisitions, monitor actual costs to budget. 3.15%
•Monitor machine and tool build requirements, negotiate and select contracted services for mechanical and electrical build. 4.15%
•Review and approve controlled documents from initial release, through revisions, and finally into archive for service parts. 5.15%
•Support plant QMS activities including customer specific requirements. 6.10%
•Monitor design change timing for implementation, approve closeout when implementation completed.
•Verify design changes and new drawing release for completeness and accuracy, and look for opportunities to continually improve the design change process.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and other information.
EducationBachelor of Science - Industrial / Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or Operations Management or equivalent.
Related Experience•Experience managing engineering projects with multiple customers and input.
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Process Engineering. Special Training or Competency
• Lean manufacturing concepts and implementation, time standard establishment (such as MOST), statistical process control.
•Demonstrated familiarity with PFMEA and APQP. Work Hours
Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. Off-hours as needed.
Travel Requirements25% domestic and/or international.
If domestic travel is necessary, valid driver's license is required.
If international travel is necessary, valid passport is required.
