Provides functional testing services, repair and inspection of fire detection systems installed at large commercial client sites. Position will be primarily responsible for managing field technicians, with some hands on work required if necessary. Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities of those that the incumbent will be managing. Please note that this is a leadership position!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Service position with continuous service to internal and/or external customers. * Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis. * Expected to render all services in accordance with manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards and Company policies and procedures. * Responsible for scheduling inspections with customers, as required. * Provides all necessary documentation for Company records, customer records, the authority having jurisdiction and any other entity as required. * Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs and other important issues to the Company and the customer. * Follows up to ensure that suggested repairs to systems are performed. * Responsible for training Technician Trainees as assigned. * Expected to keep our word 100% of the time and work every day until our obligations are met, which may result in overtime. * Has and is expected to use the authority to make decisions that will provide successful transactions and satisfy customers. * Accuracy and timeliness is a must. * Handles each transaction in a way that positively spreads our Company's reputation. * Performs administrative duties as necessary, i.e., completing time sheets, time and material reports, and other reports related to the performance of duties and responsibilities. * Responsible for completing continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for position. * Must continuously adhere to Company's Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard. * Expected to work safely, by using good judgment and following all Company safety policies and work procedures with authority to stop an unsafe act. * Performs other related duties as required. EDUCATION AND
* High School diploma or equivalent required, plus * 2+ years of experience in fire protection systems preferred * Minimum Level I NICET certification in desired field required (or the ability to obtain Level I within the first 18 months of employment), OR * The equivalent combination of education and experience. * Sprinkler and Special Hazard experience a plus
