Job description:

  • The Senior Functional Analyst will provide technical/functional skills in the lead generation to order fulfilment processes across to play a critical role in the implementation of key systems.
  • This position will be part of the Digital Transformation team working with various stakeholders around the business to design and implement connected digital solutions to support multiple strategic business units.
  • The Senior Functional Analyst will lead the analysis, design, implementation, and support of business applications and systems by collaborating with business customers, end-users, and project managers to capture and document business requirements and technical requirements.
  • They will support the full lifecycle of requirements management and implementation (waterfall and agile) by participating in requirements elaboration and design before testing developed functionality to match requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical activities related to the developing of solutions related to large implementations, including partnering with technical staff resources on/offshore.
  • Responsible for the requirements gathering process (coordinating, documenting and confirming) through design, development and implementation, including the documentation of “AS-IS” processes, use cases, business requirements, detailed design specification, functional documentation, etc.
  • Use skills to provide functional design, development and implementation of application reports, interfaces, conversions and extensions (RICE) to meet the needs of the business and project scope.
  • Assist with business process re-engineering utilizing the best business practices supported
  • Drive the adoption of standard work processes, standard application functionality and data standards
  • Responsible for process, data analysis, data clean-up, conversion, and validation
  • Develop and perform detailed unit and integration testing, cut-over planning, and execution
  • Ensure alignment with the PMO to follow common processes, methodology and framework for implementation
  • Facilitate key stakeholders’ alignment and engagement for the program, holding stakeholders accountable for delivering against their commitments
  • Understanding of all phases of an application development life cycle, development methodologies, and IT platforms (both Agile and waterfall)
  • Ability to understand and challenge business processes, requirements, and proposed solutions to help define strategic, robust, and scalable solutions in line with CEO/CFO/CIO strategies
  • Ability to proactively manage timelines, risks, and clients to ensure timely delivery of quality work

Job Requirements

Key Competencies and Success Factors:

  • Proven motivational thought leader, driven individual and possesses exceptional business acumen, coupled with strong working knowledge of customer-facing digital platform implementations
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects related to the lead generation through order fulfillment process
  • Working knowledge of a system development methodology
  • Technically proficient with the ability to create functional specifications and documentation
  • Translate business processes into system requirements and/or development of systems solutions
  • High and diligent attention to detail and quality of outputs
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems, particularly within excellent industry knowledge of customer service and CRM systems
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordinate multiple assignments at once, and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Experience in diagnosing and identifying system-related problems with proven excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Identify product gaps from business specifications to product enhancement and/or business process change
  • Hands-on creation of test scripts, leading large groups through user acceptance testing and transfer information to internal teams, high desirable
  • Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an accelerated timeframe
  • Works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems
  • Works in a collaborative fashion, elevates team results over individual results
  • Excellent communication skills, presenting, listening, and informing. Can communicate upward and downward.
  • Experience in requirements planning, analysis, refinement, and documentation
  • Develop instructional materials, training, and job aids

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years extensive experience as a business and functional analyst or similar experience
  • Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies, experience with Agile projects is essential
  • Business Process from Point of Sale Customer Contact, through Quoting, Sales and Distribution including Customer Support.
  • Digital sales engagement technology experience is a plus
  • PMP or Agile certification not required but is a plus
  • BS degree required
  • 25-50% travel may be required
