Norfolk, VA

Long Term Contract




This position's primary role will be as a Help Desk Technician servicing a large scale Enterprise network. You will be part of a Team of Help Desk Technicians servicing a Federal Government site in Norfolk. This network includes Cisco, Aruba, Brocade, Juniper, Riverbed and McAfee network devices to include Routers, Switches, Access Points, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and WAN Accelerators.




Minimum Requirements:

  • 0-2 years experience, Working knowledge in the Networking and Information Technology.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, maintaining products and equipment.
  • Superior customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to Obtain a Government Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must have at least an A+ certification or equivalent.




Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain network devices at the site and work with the NOC technicians and managers to troubleshoot outages and resolve network related issues.
  • Create ticket for maintenances using HPE Service Manager.
  • Understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Use various software systems and applications to effectively troubleshoot issues and equipment. relating to underlying network connectivity, as well as identification of configuration and other related issues with managed services equipment.
