Job Summary

The HR Associate supports the HR Manager in delivering the overall people strategy for the site. The HR Associate ensures positive employee relations through effective communication and fair and consistent administration of the labor agreement. This role has accountabilities with processing time and attendance (vacation, personal, sick) as well as being the payroll liaison and may on occasion work with Corporate Payroll to ensure accuracy of pay (straight, overtime and Holiday) for hourly employees. This role will attend staffing meetings and interface with 3rd party sourcing agencies to ensure proper staffing for operations. The HR Associate will also create, under the direction of the HR Manager, site communications as necessary. This is a salaried, non-exempt position.

Reporting Relationship  

This position reports directly to the Human Resource Manager and dotted line to the EHS Specialist. May also receive direction from the Americas Corporate HR Team.

Primary Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Assist in administration of the labor agreement
  • Support the Performance Management of employees
  • Execution of the site Training and Development Plans
  • Maintain overall HRIS and reporting for local site
  • Secondary backup for HR Representative/ EHS Specialist/ or others as assigned

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Additional Responsibilities

  • Managing the educational assistance
  • Handle site activity notices
  • Enter requisition for payment into SAP
  • Reporting Monthly and Annual Indicators though accurate tracking processes
  • Assisting with attendance management discussions
  • Proper record keeping and employee file maintenance
  • Facilitating the job bidding / posting process
  • Participating/ managing community and employee involvement programs
  • Participating in 3rd party agency recruitment and interviewing Hourly employees
  • Deliver New Hire Onboarding class, review benefits and complete I9s
  • Must successfully complete all required training
  • Must comply with all Plant work rules, safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Administering a labor agreement in a fast-paced Unionized manufacturing environment
  • All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to handle confidential and protected employee information
  • Able to multi-task with competing priorities
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization from shop floor to VP
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Possess basic computer skills; ADP, SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of labor and employment laws

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of professional HR/ and or EHS experience required
  • Bachelor Degree required (in Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent)
  • Professional HR Certification preferred
  • Union experience preferred
  • Successful completion of a background and substance abuse screening
  • Local candidates only
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of visa sponsorship now AND in the future.
