IT Help Desk Technician

A Syracuse area company is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to join their team for an exciting direct-hire opportunity! This opportunity offers Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm hours. Compensation for this role is $25/hr - $26hr+ DOE or more, depending on experience, education, and skill-set, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
DUTIES:

  • Be the first point of contact for any concerns or issues in the office
  • Maintain overall daily performance of computer systems
  • Setup computer peripherals for employees and new hires
  • Gather information from employees to get all needed information to resolve the issue
  • Effectively communicate with your co-workers in the IT department to determine what the best solution is to solving the problem, as needed
  • Record the issues at hand and how the resolution was reached for future events
  • Add input when improvements have been identified to make procedures more efficient
  • Remediate workstation malware infections
  • Assist in mass software updates/deployments
  • May need to walk co-workers through solving the problem over the phone or email
  • May need to travel to remote offices as needed
  • May need to provide support after regular business hours as part of an on-call team


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of proven IT experience
  • Exceptional technical skills which include a comprehensive understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Proficiency in Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate in a professional manner with employees
  • Ability to work independently and manage a workload that contains time-sensitive tasks, while still being able to collaborate with the IT Team to ensure accuracy
  • Capability to manage, multi-task, and prioritize problems/tasks under heavy workloads
  • Proven Experience with the following Technologies:
    • Windows 10
    • Office 365
    • iManage/FileSite (Outlook)
    • Adobe Acrobat
    • CCH Practice Management Software
    • Avaya Phone Systems
    • HP Printers
    • Ricoh Copiers
    • Zoom and Go-To Meetings
    • Conference Room setup including televisions and projectors
