IT Help Desk Level 2

Job Description

NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.) is now hiring for a level 2 IT Operations Support (Help Desk) position located in our Wixom, MI corporate offices.  This position will support over 160 corporate associates, and roughly 40 remote employees.  Overall 200-225 users while reporting to our IT Operations Manager.  This is a full-time position (benefits available after 90 days), paid hourly based on experience, and hours of 8:30-5 M-F.  Working hours can become more flexible over time.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Combination of post-secondary education and/or minimum of two years previous commensurate work experience
  • Ability to support associates with helpdesk issues in all levels of the organization
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Good documentation skills of technical issues
  • Highly tactful and diplomatic
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with installation, configuration, deployment and support of software and hardware
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Adapt to changing needs in fast paced office
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and make decisions accordingly regard to business impact
  • Good problem identification and resolution skills Effective communication and customer service
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, planning and administration

Job Requirements

  • Installation, configuration, deployment and support of software, hardware and peripherals.
  • Advanced networking (wired and wireless) and application troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate Ticket creation and resolution in company Help Desk System; appropriate ticket escalation as required. Update Helpdesk knowledge base with proven resolutions.
  • Creation of AD accounts and knowledge of AD security policies.
  • Assigning of Microsoft products through Microsoft administrative portal.
  • End user support and training for PC’s and mobile devices.
  • JSox compliance auditing / reporting.
  • Inventory and license compliance - Computer equipment life-cycle management – Provide reports to management for budgeting purpose.
  • Testing and validation of hardware and software changes prior to implementation on productions systems.
  • Assist in Documenting and maintaining all desktop configurations, hardware/software installation procedures. Established and Maintains vendor relations, to ensure competitive pricing is receive on all IT related items purchased.
  • End user prioritization and communication regarding problem resolution strategy and scheduled completion.
  • Remote Technical support for traveling sales, executive, and administrative users.
  • Computer imaging and building to meet the needs of all business functions.
  • Provide reports to management for JSOX requirements.
  • Proactive approach to identifying/implementing operational enhancements.
  • Rotating on call with IT operation group.
  • Understand/comply with QMS and EMS policy/procedures.
  • Overtime and/or travel as necessary.
  • Assist Operations Support staff.
  • Cross train with and provide for other IT associates.
  • General housekeeping duties.
