The Desktop Support Network Engineer provides support to the firm as well as supports the network infrastructure in relation to structured cabling, mechanical systems, electrical systems and network systems. The Engineer ensures the performance of the networks through the use of monitoring tools, continuous system performance reviews, and/or system configuration. The Engineer is responsible for identifying problems, isolating root causes, and initiating corrective action and is responsible for everything that is related to the computers and the network. The Desktop Support Network Engineer provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to support the overall stability and growth of the firm.

The Desktop Support Network Engineer shall be responsible for:
•Support both a Mac/PC environment.
•Setup desktop computers and peripherals and test network connections.
•Install and test desktop software applications and internet browsers.
•Test computers to ensure proper functioning of computer systems.
•Train end users on usage of computer hardware and software.
•Develop and manage effective professional working relationships with contractor personnel, co-workers and clients.
•Adhere to policies as per corporate manuals and directives.
•Extend computer support for systems’ software and hardware.
•Setup computers and install software for various applications and programs.
•Interact with staff on desktop problems and their resolution.
•Network and connect computers within organization to better communication.
•Order or buy computer systems and liaise with purchase and supplies department/Controller on forecasting, P&L
•Maintain computer peripheral devices like printers and resolve associated problems.
•Database management – Salesforce
•Website management
•Support for video conference and audio-visual support for meetings and internal events
•Oversee and update assigned support service requests.
•Handle daily technical support activities on desktop support, data network and server management.
•Providing timely, effective, and professional customer support.
•Assisting in the development, review and of departmental process, procedures and strategy
•Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers/vendors
•Network Operations experience

Network Control Center:
•Monitor and respond to network alarms and perform fault testing
•Facilitate, escalate and coordinate flow of communication
•Move, add and change requests in accordance with change management
•Alerting teams of outages or Incidents.
•Review system logs to correlate events
•Follow, support and enforce internal control processes and procedures
•Collaborate with third party vendors both during routine deployment and outages
•Perform tasks that are generally not clearly defined and are not part of a regular workflow cycle
•Maintain network inventory and report on a regular basis

Infrastructure Management:
•Assist in the development, review and of departmental process, procedures and
•Understanding of construction projects/methodologies
•Knowledge of the project management life cycle and ability to understand and adhere to project schedules

Job Requirements

•Thorough understanding of Windows XP/ Win7/ Win 10 /desktop OS
•Expert MS 365 Administrator
•Strong knowledge using network management tools to monitor and analyze network health.
•Knowledge of switches, routers, networking protocols, and LAN/WAN traffic
•Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
•Proficient in: IP Routing, VOIP
•Strong skills supporting a wireless network
•Excellent computer skills necessary in Microsoft Office Suite
•Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
•Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
•Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
•Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
•Arranging scheduled upgrades
•Investigating faults in the network
•Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
•Reporting network status to key stakeholders
•Strong troubleshooting capabilities evidenced by organized and analytical thinking
•Strong verbal and written communications skills
•Work independently as part of a team with minimal supervision
•Vendor supervision and vendor contract management
•Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and interact with all types of clients including technology, business, management and executive management
•Ability to work in a high-pressure dynamic environment
•Minimum 7 years of computer hardware and software support
•Excellent people skills with ability to handle difficult situations
•Experience with Virtual Computing Environments i.e. Citrix, VMWare
•Experience supporting Mobile Devices and Video Conferencing Systems
•Keen attention to detail, with a commitment to follow through and follow-up
•Excellent time management and organizational skills
