IT Support Technician

Job Description

Systems Administrator:
The main function of a systems administrator is to install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet system or a segment of a network system. A typical systems administrator is responsible for monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.

Required Qualifications:
Computer-related degree preferred. 3-5 years of network experience required (demonstrated experience of basic network skills, pinging machines, checking network cables).
Good verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must have the ability to work independently and manage one's time as well as being a collaborative team member. Candidate must display ability to identify, interpret and evaluate system and network requirements. Strong ability to troubleshoot and make system changes as needed to resolve issues is a must.
* If candidate has network experience, good troubleshooting and interpersonal skills, all other job duties are trainable.*

Responsibilities:
Provide shop floor Level 1 LAN and WLAN network support, machine control support and digital display support
Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments
Perform data backups, Windows patching and disaster recovery operations
Perform firewall access administration
Provide server support
Perform security risk mitigation
Work closely with Manufacturing and Facilities engineering staff; collaborate with US-based IT team members
