Industrial Engineer

Job Description:

  • This position is an established Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering professional wo develops, designs and plans manufacturing process and coordinates sequence of operations for optimized product manufacturability, testability and highest quality.
  • Reviews and documents quality related items to ensure that established quality standards are met.
  • Identifies cost reduction and process improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Leverages analysis on cell performance and productivity to maximize productivity.
  • Performs professional or management work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Adapts machine and equipment designs to factory and production standards.
  • Conducts detailed design work focused on the layout of assembly and materials handling operations.
  • Plans the sequence of operations and develops specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Improves production methods, determines manufacturing capacity, and sets up production schedules.
  • Assists in developing time, labor and product cost estimates.
  • Designs and plans layout for assembly and materials handling.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product function and performance.
  • Develops manufacturing processes, routers, method sheets, visual aids and similar process optimization workflow documents.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design for manufacturability and design for testability design concepts, and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques in a safe manner.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and five years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and three years of prior relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, best practices, and application of Lean tools.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP system.
  • Knowledge and experience with workmanship to meet IPC 610/JSTD 001 is a plus
  • Translating BOMs and engineering drawing into production requirements and work flows are essential.
