About Applications Development at UPS Technology:
Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As a member of the applications development family, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.
About this role:
The Intermediate Applications Developer provides input and support for full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analysis, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She performs tasks within planned durations and established deadlines. This position collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication in supporting the achievement of objectives. He/She provides knowledge, development, maintenance, and support for applications.
The Intermediate Applications Developer will work on the Crew Integration Team to implement a new crew scheduling system. This a highly visible project and key to Airline transformation. The candidate will be responsible for technical analysis, design, development, etc. of the integration points between mission critical crew applications and vendor application. Will analyze requirements and validate appropriate solutions that have been designed. Will provide knowledge, support and collaboration with the application team on the applications development and integration activities. The successful candidate will have solid problem solving, communication and planning skills; solid crew domain business knowledge will be beneficial.
This position requires technical and soft skills for integrating vendor(s) and UPS-built projects on Crew legacy applications. The ability to work in a team environment and bring software development experience will allow guidance and input in the team's day-to-day, peer review and code perspective.
- Intermediate Java Development experience
- Knowledge of Agile Development, Data Analysis, Effective Communication, Technical Analysis
- Knowledge of Oracle and SQL/PL/SQL
- Familiarity with Angular 2
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
