About Applications Development at UPS Technology:

Our Application Development teams use their expertise in programming languages and software design to develop next-generation technology. They are responsible for developing the applications which track and move up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team works closely with all of our customers to build innovative technologies that are customized to drive our business and provide the ultimate customer experience. As an App Developer, you will help UPS grow and provide valuable services across the globe.

About this role:

The Intermediate Applications Developer will work on UPS airline applications. He/She must be able to develop web applications and develop interfaces with existing applications. He/She must be familiar with modern web development technology and practices including Agile development, automated testing and OpenShift or similar hosting strategy. He/She will be expected to become familiar with data analysis tools and machine learning as required for the projects. 

The Intermediate Applications Developer must possess good written and verbal communication skills, work with business representatives and cross functional technical teams on analysis and design.  He/She will be responsible for translating business and functional requirements into technical design. He/She will be responsible for keeping abreast of emerging technology trends and will be a key resource in problem resolution and training. He/She will participate in peer reviews and design discussions and should possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills. He/She must be able to work independently with some supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile Development, Technical Analysis, Java Development, Java Script, HTML, CSS, SQL Language, and Web Development
  • Knowledge of Data Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
