Infoscitex has an opportunity for an Aerospace Engineer Intern to support extensive high visibility Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) efforts.
As a member of our team, you will support aerospace technologies research in Dayton, OH, having opportunities to work in a dynamic environment, with state of the art simulation technologies, simulation integration experts, and military Subject Matter Experts (SME). This work focuses on conducting capability assessments for emerging aerospace technologies and ensuring related tools and methodologies are suitable for DoD Decision Support Systems.
Essential job functions:
As this intern, you could expect to:
Assist in developing aerospace concept designs or implement these concepts in simulation.
Collaborate with study lead(s) to understand study requirements and identify relevant tasking.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, such as pilots and technologists, to identify requirements for system implementation in models and simulations.
Coordinate with team members to contribute to execution of analysis of studies, analyze results, and prepare and present study findings.
Some intermittent short-term travel may be requested.
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least partial and continuing work toward completion of a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret-level U.S. DoD security clearance.
Familiarity with aircraft design tools.
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
Ability to apply the scientific method to diverse MS&A efforts.
Ability to work well in team environments
Ability to travel, if needed.
Strong desire to learn new technical skills, modeling and simulation techniques and/or industry best practices.
An ideal candidate may bring the following attributes, although these are not firm requirements for consideration:
Active security clearance, Secret or higher.
Knowledge and experience with Modeling and Simulation (M&S) environments (constructive and virtual) and/or Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) concepts.
Familiarity with principles of aerodynamic analysis.
Familiarity with modern military systems, both foreign and domestic.
Scripting or programming experience.
