CALIBRE Systems Inc., an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with some knowledge of power supplies, to support the U.S. Air Force Office of Energy Assurance Engineering Team with developing conceptual designs for projects and ensuring all services and products delivered comply with Government Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Air Force Instruction (AFI) requirements.
The Engineering Teams are comprised of technical systems engineering resources knowledgeable in specific renewable and alternative energy technologies, utility systems engineering, microgrid, electrical distribution infrastructure, energy storage, utility control, cost estimating, and energy security systems to support its activities. These resources work collaboratively to develop and execute opportunities that related to specific energy projects.
The Engineering Teams provide technical expertise to Government decision makers for energy program requirements, interpretation, and development of program guidance, and assist with development of policy/guidance for energy program planning and evaluation. The Engineering Teams conduct engineering studies to determine capabilities of existing equipment, utility services, and energy-related systems. To maximize utility efficiency and minimize overall cost, the teams calculate statistical averages, cumulative and rolling averages, statistical trends, rates of change, percentages, etc. As renewable energy technologies experts, the teams evaluate and coordinate the development and acquisition of a wide variety of energy conservation projects, including photo-voltaic, concentrated solar, biomass, and geothermal.
This Mechanical Engineer position requires some experience with energy/power supply components and systems. The Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical engineering expertise and knowledge in support of construction, operations, and maintenance of large-scale renewable and alternative energy security projects.
