Perform Electrical Engineering to support the F-18 Advanced Weapons Labs Facilities Team by delivering designs and improvements for Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radar systems during RDT&E conducted in Software Integration Lab (SIL) environments.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide engineering analysis and assessments that support the planning and execution of the US Navy & EW and Radar integration testing in laboratory environments.
Design hardware concepts for new developments or upgrades to existing laboratory avionics benches required for various F/A-18 & EA-18G Software Configuration Sets.
Review and assess the adequacy of existing SIL capabilities for EW and Radar hardware, wire bundles, and soldered circuits to meet regression-testing requirements for OFP projects and schedules according to the F/A-18 Facilities Process Manuals.
Access various CAD tools to deliver electrical schematics and mechanical drawings that source wiring, circuitry, and sheet metal fabrication and assemblies.
Perform Quality Assurance reviews with the Facilities Fabrication Team as they locally build designed electrical components for EW and Radar purposes.
Analyze Laboratory System Anomaly Reports and advise methods to correct faults or recommend system improvements when requested by EW or Radar integration test engineers.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelors in Electrical or Systems Engineering with 5 years’ experience or 4 years experience with a Masters Degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Experience in one of the following technical areas: RF engineering, electronic warfare, communications systems, intelligence research, or spectrum management.
Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, MS Office Suite, Visual Studio, and Solid Edge CAD software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Less than 25% travel to NAVAIR Facilities within Continental US.
Knowledge of F/A-18 & EA-18G AWL requirements for Laboratory Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance.
Experience or certification in Radar, electromagnetics, antenna pattern radiation, or 1553-bus signal processing strongly desired.
Experience or strong interest in signal analysis, INTEL analysis, or software modeling & simulation is a plus.
