 Purpose of thePosition: Under general supervision, this position is responsiblefor development, maintenance, and implementation of controls systems,standards, policies and procedures capable of delivering reliable equipment efficiencyand capable functions for the maintenance and production team at MBUSI.

 
 
EssentialFunctions:  (List all basic responsibilities related tothe purpose of the position)
 
Maintainplant controls standards including software, fieldbus networks, visualizationsystems, hardware, configuration and documentation.
 
Manageoutsourcing activities & selection of key service contractors andsuppliers.
 
Assistin the development and implementation of maintenance training programs asrelated to the controls based technologies. Deliver training in areas oftechnical expertise.
 
Definecontrols systems life cycle and develop plans associated with them. These planswill include rebuilds, upgrades, and replacements as required, due toobsolescence or performance issues.
 
Supportingthe shops with controls systems analysis, downtime problem solving, andcountermeasure plan/implementation, in order to increase shop efficiency/reduceequipment downtime.
 
Supportcontrols on an expert level for downtime troubleshooting and continuousimprovement projects in the shops.
 
Planand prepare for controls systems for product changes and their impact onprocesses, equipment, tooling, in conjunction with supporting departments (Production,PE, Maintenance, etc.).
 
Develop,improve and modify controls related equipment standards, buy-off standards andscope of work standards. Represent MBUSI at international standard team SAK’sto plan for future standards and improvements.  Communicate informationwith plant engineering teams.
 
Provideexpert level support for equipment safety standards related to currentrequirements and new technologies.
 
Conductproject management, planning, design reviews, implementation, and successfulexecution of expense and capital related projects.  Includes design reviews and buy-off support.
 
Planningand coordinating weekend work and shutdown activities including,overseeing/coordinating contractors and supporting maintenance activities.
 
Reviewinitial spare parts setup quantities for common controls equipment parts, andestablish correct inventory levels and repair strategies.
 
Administration:
Perform/participatein practical problem solving and the implementation of countermeasures.
Developsingle point lessons, procedures, and guidelines relating to equipment needs.
Writeproject justifications, develop scope of work standards, and project timelines.
Prepareformal reports for the purpose of communicating problem/project status.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met inorder to qualify for position.
 
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related areaand/or the equivalent combination of education or experience.
     
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenanceengineering or a related engineering field is necessary, with the aboverequired degree.  Must be experienced inautomation controls (PLC), including field bus network systems.
 
NecessarySkills, Certifications, etc.:
Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project.
