Maintenance Manager (Ameridrives)

Job Description

SUMMARY

Manages the upkeep of plant equipment, building, grounds and janitorial services. Drives efficiency and improvement in response time and service of production equipment. Maintains appearance of facility in accordance with all city, state and federal regulations. Develops team for improved engagement, performance and capability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety champion, key driver of Near Miss program.
  • Develops, measures, and drives improvement in Maintenance Team metrics and KPIs.
  • Effectively analyzes downtime, PM, and repair data to anticipate future needs and prepares proposals and justifications for equipment replacement.
  • Establishes, administers and documents a preventive maintenance program for critical CNC machine tools to include fluid level checks, belt wear, motor power loss, bearing fatigue, and fastener tightening.
  • Develops training plans to elevate maintenance team capability in servicing automated equipment including CNC machining equipment controls and PLC controlled automated equipment.
  • Continually monitors maintenance work orders and schedules repairs based on priority.
  • Makes purchasing decisions regarding maintenance repair.
  • Provides status of parts needed, costs of parts and expected date repairs will be completed to broader operations team.
  • Reviews all areas of janitorial responsibility for cleanliness, upkeep and availability of supplies.
  • Maintains heating, cooling and air supply systems in the plant.
  • Manages all outside forklift, vehicle, and other equipment maintenance contractors.
  • Ensures successful execution of all contracts pertaining to the upkeep of the facility and production equipment systems.
  • Continually monitors building and grounds for safety issues & regulatory compliance.
  • Provides an environment that meets OSHA requirements.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing plant utility issues.
  • Leads and participates in cost improvement programs and continuous improvement/kaizen events.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Critical Competencies

  • Ability to utilize mathematical concepts such as: standard deviation, probability, and statistics.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions where limited standardization or information exists.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems and deal effectively with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.



Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering, management or other degree relevant to job
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 years hand-on experience in maintenance and repair of automated manufacturing machinery
  • Previous project management experience in equipment installation and commissioning
  • Strong working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous CNC machining equipment training preferred
