Manager Manufacturing Engineering

The Mgr Manufacturing Engineering interacts with other engineeringgroups to define, document, analyze, perform and interpret tests for products,systems, components, , or modifications. Participates in final systemintegration and validation to identify functional problems. Defines internalquality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Creates,documents, and analyzes complex test cases and provides feedback andrecommendations for products or design changes. Ensures testing procedures arein compliance with any required industry specific standards. Develops andimplements improvements to overall testing and quality programs. May coordinatewith vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components and otherparts.


Reporting directly to the Director of OperationalExcellence, this position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Major Accountability:

  • Lead Test Engineering department in supporting test functionsacross the production environment

  • Develop new test equipment and procedures as required

  • Provide innovative solutions in addressing testing issues

  • Lead Fist Pass Yield improvement initiatives

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides test engineering leadership in developing and maintainingtest-equipment

  • Works collaboratively with other functional areas to drive prioritiesthat support the overall business strategy

  • Works closely with Senior Management team to evaluate test-related infrastructureinvestments

  • Plans, directs and controls test-engineering effort directly related toassigned projects, including establishing program criteria, planning andscheduling

  • Maintains close contact and coordinate activities with other groupswithin the Product/Design Engineering Department

  • Supervises work of assigned resources including internal or externalcontractors






Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering required, prefer electricalengineering or equivalent

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in production testing and leadership/supervisoryroles

  • Strong knowledge of electronics, computer controls and testengineering applications (LabVIEW,ATEasy, other)

  • Strong written and verbal communications

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company in support ofjob functions

  • Multiple task management ability with ability to plan and executeplans

  • High degree of mechanical and technology aptitude

  • Completeunderstanding of reliability concepts and process capability methods.

  • Strongcomputer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlookprograms

  • LeanSix Sigma experience, training or certification preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office or lab environment.

  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to wear all required personal protectiveequipment (PPE)
