Our client is a dominant force in their industry. Not only do they have 50% of the market share with some of their products, they also continue to grow in all areas of their industry. They have expanded their business by at least 10% each year over the last five years and have opened two new facilities recently as well. They do this by not being content with their success. They are continuously developing state-of-the-art products and manufacturing processes. Currently, our client is looking for a “change agent” Manufacturing Engineer to help with the development of their facility located just outside of Lexington, Kentucky.

Duties of the Manufacturing Engineer include:

  • Increase efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process through continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
  • Work with production and maintenance employees on ways to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
  • Assist with capital equipment upgrades, including the purchasing of equipment and overseeing installation
  • Perform plant layouts
  • Gather production statistics, analyze data, and provide solutions to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Develop and re-write SOPs that are aimed at improving efficiency
  • Support the troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment

Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer include:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of an Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or Process Engineer
  • Proven change agent experience, having implemented continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with production personnel to solve problems
  • Good multitasking skills

Key skills: 4+ years of engineering experience, proven CI experience, strong communication skills
