Job Description

Title            :  Manufacturing engineer
Duration :  7+ months Contract
Location  :  Austin, TX

Job Description:

  • Working with limited supervision and independent judgment:
  • Develops work instructions, software, and procedures in support of manufacturing processes.
  • Prepares detailed work instructions and directives in support of manufacturing processes.
  • Develops capacity analyses to maintain efficient Client and equipment utilization.
  • Provides manufacturing personnel with training and technical guidance.
  • Analyzes manufacturing processes and work flow for continuous improvement opportunities and implements changes.
  • Performs methods and cost analyses and conducts process measurements.
  • Develop new manufacturing processes / tooling and resolve manufacturing constraints.
  • Develop facilities, equipment, and presonnel layouts for manufacturing including preparation of capital expense justification(s).
  • Proficient in use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Quality systems, and other manufacturing support systems.
  • Assist other department personnel in reviewing engineering designs for producibility.
  • Assist in the resolution of supply chain issues impacting manufacturing.

Job Requirements

Skills Required Typical Related Experience:
  • Two plus years related experience(In addition to the items listed above, the Essential Functions are:
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in Section II above.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers;
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents;
  • Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;
  • Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule;
  • Design and develop products and services using state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts.)
Skills Preferred:
  • Electronics Mfg experience Works well with diverse hourly workforce
Experience Required:
  • 5+ yrs as a Mfg Engr.Experience Preferred 10+ yrs as a Mfg Engr
Education Required:
  • BS in engineering plus direct experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
  • 10+ yrs experience as a Mfg Engr with a tech degree is acceptable.
Education Preferred:
  • BS in engineering plus direct experience as a Manufacturing Engineer 10+ yrs experience as a Mfg Engr with a tech degree is acceptable.
