Mechancial Engineer - Property & Buildings

Job Description

Working with the Property and Buildings group, this position offers great variety of projects, and will see you involved in:
  • Planning and owning the successful delivery of mechanical designs and calculations
  • Leading and contributing to the preparation of proposals and bids for projects
  • Providing creative solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities
  • Coordinating the work of the team, mentoring less experienced team members
Responsibilities:
  • Apply design knowledge in a manner compliant with applicable building codes.
  • Perform detailed design work (plans and specifications
  • Prepare design calculations for sizing and selection of equipment.
  • Prepare  engineering calculations
  • Prepare estimates of probable construction costs
  • Perform field investigations of existing conditions
  • Review HVAC and plumbing equipment submittals and shop drawings
  • Write specifications for HVAC and plumbing materials and equipment
  • Attend and participate in meetings with clients and owners
  • Supervise the work of other designers and drafters
What you will bring to the team 
  • Proven excellence at all stages of the project life-cycle, from preparing bids to feasibility studies, consenting, detailed design and data analysis, and stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget
  • Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
  • An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License highly desired
  • 10 years of related property and building engineering design experience and a minimum 5 years professional experience with HVAC and plumbing design
  • Experience with public or private institutional and commercial/industrial projects
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Knowledge of local and state building codes
