A mid-sized, and quickly growing, aerospace and defense products' manufacturer is currently seeking to hire a Product / Production Engineer to join their team immediately! This role is open as their current engineer in this role is out on leave indefinitely.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ Years of Professional Experience, Preferably in the Aerospace Industry
  • Product Design Experience in Solidworks
  • Tooling and Fixture Design Experience in Solidworks

Job Description:

Production Support

    1. Coordinate with production personnel and the Production Manager to recommend and validate proposed changes to improve quality, safety and/or efficiency of production and the end product
    2. Design and develop manufacturing fixtures, tooling and jigs which ensure effective and efficient manufacturability of products
    3. Utilize keen problem solving skills to quickly and effectively solve production problems as they arise while ensuring quality of product

Product Design

    1. Aid the engineering team in the design and development of new product as required by the Engineering Director
    2. Implement changes to engineering drawings and procedures as well as production work instructions (parts travelers) within the guidelines of the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process & procedures
    3. Perform duties as required by the Engineering Director during customer visits and support the company's business development goals representing a positive customer interface in applicable areas of expertise
    4. Conduct product testing & validation utilizing various pieces of laboratory equipment
    5. Prepare intelligent test reports that are able to be shared outside of the company capturing all aspects of product testing & validation
    6. Perform various duties in the prototyping, assembly and manufacturing process development of new products as required by the Engineering Director
