Network Admin

If you have a strong background and looking to make that change, please email [email protected] Under the general supervision of the Information Security Officer, the Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining our clients network technology resources and support facilities, including the Network Topology, Phone System, Cyber Security and Access to the Mobile, VPN and Wireless Networks, including the Disaster Recovery network. The Network Administrator maintains the day to day network requirements including installing upgrades; monitoring network performance, and protection of the client's network access. Collaborates with the Information Security Officer in the overall administration of these directives for our client. Ensures the network technology activities are secure and stable at all times. Assists in developing and implementing network technology architecture strategies to accommodate current and future organizational needs.   Strategy & Planning Proven experience and success with enterprise-level LAN, WAN, and WLAN engineering, design, and implementation. Proven ability to design, deploy, maintain and document all firewalls, routers, switches, UPSs and network connections to all servers, SANs, phone and internet circuits. Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and any other networked appliance. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. Document the LAN's architecture, design, and layout, including protocols and standards used, as well as configuration. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry in support of network procurement and development efforts. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Design and support Cisco VoIP infrastructure and its associated software, including IP-PBXs, call management systems, voicemail, and interactive voice response. Deploy, update, and effectively manager call manager suite for reporting and routing of IP telephony traffic on the network. Establishes network specifications by analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols. Assist the technology department financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and network monitoring expenses.   Acquisition & Deployment Assist with the design and deployment of company LANs, WANs, and WLANs, including connectivity to servers, routers, switches, UPSs and other hardware. Participate in managing and evaluating all network security solutions. Responsible for submitting change control requests and receiving approvals prior to any changes on the network. Conduct scheduled testing and improve the disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to network functionality. Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades relating to network or telephony equipment. Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components. Where necessary, liaise with equipment vendors during installations and hardware performance issues. Design and deploy enterprise-class Receive, prioritize, and respond to incoming work orders, calls, and/or emails regarding equipment and/or connectivity problems. Processes, solves and answers complex network problems or inquiries including on site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users. Recommend and implement corrective solutions. Evaluates network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls. Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; and escalating problems to the vendor when necessary. Secures the network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation. Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancement and patches. Where necessary, liaise with equipment vendors during installations and hardware performance issues. Responsible for coordinating, supervising and managing all network cabling and wiring requests for all facilities and their IT rooms. Performs periodic scheduled audits to validate all serial numbers, locations, licenses, and support agreements. Performs periodic network configuration file reviews and makes approved adjustments as necessary. Assures all network devices have configuration file backups available. Participate in scheduled network failover and disaster recovery testing events. Accurately document instances of software or hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal or other work requests. Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, Virtual Private Networks, and intrusion detection systems. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with departmental administration regarding pertinent network activities. Configure all networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling organizational objectives and processes. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed to identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks. Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances. Participate in managing all network security solutions. Job Requirements

Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.  Bachelor's degree in a Technology related discipline.  Minimum 5 years' experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible information technology n e two r k a n d security department operations and supervisory activities.  Network Certifications (CCNP, CCIE) preferred. The ability to obtain one or more of these certifications within the first full year of being hired is expected.  Cisco call manager support and configuration preferred.  Knowledge of technology related state and federal banking compliance regulations.  Working knowledge of Bank operations preferred.  Excellent organizational and time management skills.  Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.  Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.  Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
