NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR



Brooksource is looking for a Network Administrator to join one of our clients in the insurance industry on a 6 month contract-to-hire basis in South Charlotte. Our growing client is looking for a candidate that is passionate about troubleshooting, support and hands-on responsibilities. The ideal candidate needs to be knowledgeable on but not limited to Cisco routers and switches, access lists, wireless access points, cloud management, and QoS policies. CCNP or equivalent experience is a bonus.

Qualified candidates are expected to maintain computing environments by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades and monitoring network performance. Being able to establish network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements and designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols is a must. Due to the continuous growth of the company and extensive project load they are experiencing; the right candidate must be flexible and able to pivot in need be outside of the original scope.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the network support of the branch network infrastructure (100+ remote locations)

• Participate in capacity planning and network monitoring infrastructure reviews

• Act as a point of escalation for the network outages and incidents

• Assist with implementation and support of network solutions

• Coordinate network activities to include overseeing network design, new product testing, software and hardware upgrades, and technical support

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network, hardware, and software problems to include, if necessary, arranging for outside vendor assistance

• Responsible for network uptime, production maintenance, and deployment of networking equipment

• Oversee ongoing maintenance of the network which includes establishing operating parameters; setting service standards; coordinating the work order process; and developing plans for and implementing major projects

• Oversee network equipment to include purchasing and configuring new hardware and software and scheduling maintenance and repairs

• Manage remote access servers to include designing and implementing private network addressing schemes

• Maintain records of network equipment, maintenance, and user-support contracts

SKILLSET:

• 3-5 years of experience supporting distributed network environments

• Strong understanding of Cisco networking products and infrastructure

• Networking certifications are a bonus (CompTIA A+, CCNA, CCNP)

• Good understanding of most of these commonly used protocols and technologies in an Enterprise network:

o TCP/IP (v4 + v6)

o Dynamic Routing Protocols

o HSRP

o Netflow

o Spanning Tree

o Wan Optimization technologies

o Meraki Wireless

• Demonstrate experience in: troubleshooting network, telecommunication and computer systems; evaluating software upgrades; managing multiple projects; analyzing end-user system and program needs; designing system processes and software applications; configuring systems and software

• Ability to travel (1-3x a quarter)
