Network Architect - Philadelphia

Job Description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with almost 4,000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices is seeking a Network Architect to join the Information Technology team resident in the Philadelphia office. The Network Architect reports to the Assistant Director of Network Services and is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing operations of the network and security infrastructure of the firm. Our guiding principles are operational efficiency, high availability, automation and end user performance. As a team we stress organization, teamwork, professionalism and cross-training. The position will require the candidate to evaluate, architect, and deploy a diverse range of networking technologies. Candidates will also be counted on for the ongoing operational support of these deployments. Activities include analyzing and troubleshooting performance issues, maintaining documentation, and training other team members. Candidate will need a deep and broad based understanding of network protocols and design, client/server applications, and security principals.

Core technologies managed by the network team include the following.

• Cisco routing and switching
• Cisco Meraki wireless
• Check Point Next Generation firewalls, VPN and CloudGuard
• Citrix ADC load balancers
• Solarwinds monitoring
• FortiNet FortiGate firewalls
• Forescout CounterACT network access control
• Cradlepoint 4G routers
• VMware NSX
• Big Switch Big Cloud Fabric

Ideal candidates will have in depth experience with one or more of the products above. They will also have significant experience with several other of the technologies listed or the equivalent.

The position will also take on a prominent role leading our team’s automation initiatives. Candidates will ideally have a significant background in software development. Experience in the areas below are also preferred.

• Ansible and Jinja2
• Python and Powershell
• Git
• JSON, YAML and Yang
• Postman and Rest API’s

The successful candidate will have a four year IT related degree, with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering and a minimum of five years’ experience building, deploying and operating Enterprise networks. Relevant industry certifications in the technologies listed above is preferred. A strong security background is also desired, preferably with a supporting certification. The successful applicant will also have good communication skills, be self-motivated, organized, capable of working independently or as part of a team, and possess solid decision making and project management skills. A qualified candidate also must be able to perform the physical installation of network equipment.
