Network Engineer (Customer Consultant)
Location: Deerfield, IL or Remote
Travel: 10-30% domestic travel

You will be a key member of Client's service team providing advanced IT technical expertise in support of wired and wireless connectivity of medical devices within large scale hospital infrastructures. Your duties will range from providing networking and product guidance to Client colleagues, to working independently or with customer IT resources troubleshooting end-to-end product connectivity issues, including those impacting data flow to the customer's EMR vendor. You must possess the interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams consisting of internal/external, clinical, and technical resources.

The Essential Roles and Responsibilities of the role are:
Provide high level technical support and perform root cause analysis for problems experienced within area of functional responsibility and to find a permanent fix or workaround for recurring incidents.
Support advanced and diverse technical solutions that address complex business requirements.
Provide product knowledge and expertise on the technical components of devices, interconnectivity, gateways, as it relates to their integration with a customer environment.
Identify and implement service improvements in areas such as technical issue tracking, escalation, and resolution within the functional team.
Manages and owns customer incidents and problems effectively and proactively communicates progression toward resolution to key internal and external stakeholders.
Remain up to date on new and emerging technologies within area of technical expertise and serves as resource to other Client employees.


Required Qualifications
Current CCNA certification with a minimum five years of networking support experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
Experience troubleshooting networking and network security issues
Extensive experience with Cisco or Aruba networks
Comprehensive understanding of network and routing protocols such as: TCP/IP, OSPF, and EIGRP
In-depth understanding and advanced knowledge of networking systems such as: LAN, firewalls, load balancers, routers, DNS
Ability to analyze and evaluate network ensuring network optimization.
Working knowledge and administration of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of Cyber Security, regulations, and standards related to the management of patient health information (PHI)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
Ability to work independently, under minimal direct supervision
Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Creativity in addressing technical challenges
Technical depth or breadth in one or more systems environments and strategic technologies
Ability to travel 10-30% domestically

Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with IHE profiles, HL7, and FHIR standards
Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) applications and/or clinical data sets
Prior experience with medical device/EMR interoperability
CCNP, CompTIA Security , Network , or equivalent

Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related discipline (preferred)
10 years of experience in networking support
