Network Operations and Security Analyst

Job Description

CALIBRE, an employee-owned Management Consulting and Information Technology Solutions Company, is looking for a Network Operations and Security Analyst to provide subject matter expertise and technical analysis in the areas of network operations, network optimization, network security, and cyber situational awareness.

  • Support development and coordination of implementation plans to modernize and optimize network capabilities (i.e., Joint Regional Security Stack; 4th Estate Network Optimization; One NIPR/One SIPR initiatives) in support of Department priorities to increase security, enhance effectiveness and gain efficiencies across the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN)
  • Conduct technical analysis of global and regional operations centers established for DoDIN Operations and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO)
  • Provide recommendations on capabilities for network optimization and to enhance C2 for operations in cyberspace, with emphasis on cyber analytics and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM)-based capabilities.
  • Conduct reviews of component implementation plans and support the development and coordination of recommended investment strategies for network consolidation, network security, and cyber situational awareness capabilities.
  • Support the identification of opportunities presented by advances in technology for network security and cyber situational awareness as well as associated risks and costs, to include Software Defined Networking.
  • Make recommendations on the initiation, modification or termination of plans, programs, policies, and procedures to support optimization and technology enhancements for the DoDIN.
  • Support the coordination for conferences and the development of briefings and briefing materials for use by senior leadership within the DoD CIO as it pertains to network security, network optimization, and cyber situational awareness capabilities.
  • Provide support and analysis for DoD CIO representatives at various forums and working group meetings that include Executive Steering Committees, Senior Advisory Groups, supporting Working Groups and other governance and management forums as it pertains to network security, network optimization, and cyber situational awareness.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical analysis in the area of Internet Protocol Version Six (IPv6), to include standards, industry trends, global adoption, best current practices, training, implementation and network security.
  • Support development and coordination of plans to implement IPv6 services within the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) and Internet base capabilities (e.g. cloud services, web services, mobile apps, etc.).

Job Requirements

Must hold/obtain TS/SCI with Full-Scope Poly

  • At minimum of 8 years of experience in network operations and network security with a clearly demonstrated path of accomplishment
  • Subject matter expertise in the areas of network operations, network optimization, network security, and cyber situational awareness.
  • Experience with USG or DoD cybersecurity programs including familiarity with integration of services for agency requirements, inter-agency integration, assessment of acquisition programs, and programs responsible for applying emerging/next-generation cyber technologies
  • Ability to conduct data collection and analysis of major DoD network operations, cybersecurity and information technology programs
  • Baseline knowledge of emerging cybersecurity technologies that support DoD’s transition to cloud based architectures to include awareness of applicable cybersecurity operations and technical threats
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to include preparation and delivery of high-level briefings
