The Borates Digital program is requesting data engineering, data base management and software engineering to complete the transition and installation of it's recently acquired OSI PI historian system.
*Delivery of data engineering - work directly with our data engineering team to complete the migration of our historic time based data into the OSI PI data base
*Delivery of software engineering - work directly with our data engineering team to develop the basic functionality required in the OSI Asset Framework product
*Delivery of data base management - work directly with our data engineering team to transition the KPI and measurement logic from our legacy historian system into Asset Framework.
About the Project
Rio Tinto's Borates and Lithium business is a $600M USD per year industrial minerals business delivering high quality borates products to glass manufacturers and agricultural producers globally. In 2019, the Borates business embarked on a digital transformation of its mining, refining, packaging and commercial operations and the business is scaling the program to increase its effectiveness in 2020.
The business has set aggressive efficiency and cost reduction targets in 2020, and there are three primary projects the digital program will deliver against these objectives:
* A detailed downtime tracking system built in OSI Pi and a corresponding asset health integrated data model
* A persistent, real time model for the tracking of borates through the mining refining and packaging process with the capability of analyzing real time loss analysis
* A digital representation of finished product inventory at Boron Operations
The Borates and Lithium business is building an internal team that will provide subject matter expertise, data systems knowledge, and business process experience to delivering these initiatives.
