Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

A pharmaceutical company in Pennsylvania actively seeking a diligent and dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a promising opportunity on their staff. In this role, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for contacting patients to set up prescription refills, communicating professionally at all times, and complying with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician will:

  • Submit for insurance re-authorizations, as needed
  • Obtain necessary documentation from doctors' offices and/or patients, including lab work, prescription refills, etc.
  • Ensure clinical compliance of patients by asking pre-determined questions and escalating to a pharmacist when necessary
  • Refer all clinical questions, situations, and responses to a pharmacist.
  • Stay up to date with appropriate level of clinical knowledge of applicable disease states
  • Support other Technicians and act as mentor and trainer for Patient Care Coordinators when appropriate
  • Assist the Team Lead technicians, as needed
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a high-volume Retail Pharmacy
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Registration / certification as required by Board of Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical terminology
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills
  • 1+ year of experience in Specialty Pharmacy
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • CPR certification
  • Working knowledge of Caretend, DocuTrack, and Cover My Meds
