Position Summary: Responsible for providing technical experience in troubleshooting extrusion equipment and process issues with focus on material, tooling, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Must be able to communicate with all levels of the production team and have the ability to interact with the customer on improving part quality by process and design modifications. Communicate production and maintenance needs to appropriate departments as necessary. Specific Responsibilities include: • Designing profile extrusion tooling. Program wire EDM, CNC machining operations. • Initial product launches including process development and documentation • Developing and optimizing processes through machine and tooling modifications • Provide technical experience in troubleshooting extrusion equipment and/or process issues with respect to material, tooling, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems • Standardize process, document operating instructions, implement and train workforce to process • Improve efficiencies and reduce scrap cost through lean manufacturing and six sigma • Maintain control documents such as Process Flow, PFMEA and Control Plans • Interact with customer on improving part quality by process and design modifications • Continuous Improvement/Correct Action Programs • Ensure BOM accuracy Skills & Requirements Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferred • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, Solidworks preferred, (Autocad also considered) and MasterCam programming. • Five years experience in rubber extrusion manufacturing minimum; 7-10 years preferred • Process Flow, PFMEA and Control Plan Experience • Must possess excellent communication skills • Ability to manage multiple projects while troubleshooting daily non-conformances • Ability to travel when required • Lean/Continuous Improvement experience preferred Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferred.
