Power BI - Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

UPS Source to Pay Procurement is undergoing enterprise-wide transformation and is looking for motivated professionals to develop and implement innovative, global procurement operational processes. As a result, we are looking for creative, self-directed individuals to join our team and strive to achieve exciting and challenging organizational goals.

The Business Intelligence Developer plays a vital role in Procurement by aggregating data from multiple sources in efficient data warehouse and designing enterprise-level reporting solutions for large multidimensional databases. This role supports UPS's Source-To-Pay Strategy, spanning a wide range of commodities and stakeholder groups. The BI developer works cross-functionally with procurement liaisons and stakeholders throughout the iterative project life cycle. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Creates Power BI Dashboard Visualizations and architecture (desktop vs pro vs premium)
  • Contributes to Information Services (IS) Projects
  • Performs System Analysis and Design
  • Designs and develops moderate to highly complex applications
  • Develops application documentation and performs maintenance and support

Knowledge and Skills

  • Willing to work in collaborative, cross-functional group
  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced T-SQL skills
  • Data modeling skills (normalization and star/snowflake schema)
  • Data validation skills (anomaly detection and checksum)
  • Data visualization skills (design thinking)
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Experience with SQL Server stack (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud based systems
  • Experience with DAX functions
  • Cloud applications and data security experience
  • Visual Studios experience
  • Development of best practices (requirements gathering, project management, user acceptance testing, version control, support, maintenance, documentation, etc.)
  • MCSA in SQL Business Intelligence Development - Preferred
  • MCSA in SQL Server - Preferred
