The Leidos Intelligence Group has a career opportunity for a Principal Level Site Engineer supporting our customer at our Leidos Facility in Columbia, MD.
This contract is a large, multi-year contract for the development, integration, deployment and sustainment of large, collection systems. The work that's being done on this Leidos-led, prime contract is extremely important to the government and offers its team members the opportunity to work autonomously and explore new technologies. The selected Principal Engineer will use their engineering expertise to solve complex SIGINT problems for customer with telecomm equipment and systems and standards of optical front end system interfaces. The engineer will also .support deployed customer processing systems, focusing on system operations, troubleshooting and maintenance. This includes but is not limited to systems integration, upgrade, and deployment activities.
Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
Bachelors Degree in a technical field Electrical or Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science
Minimum of 12 years engineering experience
Strong LINUX experience is required.
Strong background in SIGINT systems
Must have experience integrating systems.
Within the last 10 years, a minimum of 7 years experience in 4 of the specialization categories below: (A BS degree in engineering, telecommunications or related field may be substituted for experience in 1 specialization and one specialization must be Systems Engineering):
Modern Tele-communications System and Networks
Telephony Switching Systems
Cellular/Personal Communications Systems
TDM/PCM Multiplexing / Modulation /Switching Systems
Packet Switching Systems
Operating Systems - Linux or Unix
Within the last 10 years, a minimum of 7 years’ experience with the functionality and inter-processing of packet- and circuit-based HW & SW solutions to include configuring, changing, and optimizing
Within the last 10 years, a minimum of 5 years development, integration, testing, and/or installation experience to include generating system/component specifications, recommending solutions, and preparing and conducting test plans (stand-alone, DT&E,
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a leadership position providing technical supervision to other engineering personnel; solving varied technical/scientific problems; and generating and reviewing designs for technical accuracy, completeness and appropriateness in light of
objectives, budget, and schedule.
A proactive attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to integrate into an existing technical team comprised of contractors and government customers .
Experience with front-end collection system requirements, development, analysis and fulfillment
Experience with SIGINT collection testing scenarios, procedures and integration methods
Experience with failure modes analysis and root cause determination of issues with SIGINT systems/applications
Ability to compare metrics or analyses of collection to understand system performance and provide optimizations recommendations for SIGINT systems
