Provide on-site manufacturing engineering and technical/program management support to U.S. Army Product Manager Ground Sensors.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide on-site oversight of supplier’s manufacturing and quality processes.
Review and approve supplier’s Manufacturing Plan.
Review and approve supplier’s Quality Program Plan.
Review suppliers Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) impact on manufacturing processes and product delivery schedules.
Review supplier’s Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
Provide production engineering support of electro-optical and infrared sensors, laser sensor fusion and focal plane array manufacturing.
Support identification and mitigation of supplier production and manufacturing risks.
Support development and approval of the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP).
Support program reviews, system engineering technical reviews (Production Readiness Review thru Physical Configuration Audit) and technical interchange meetings between the government and suppliers.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
DoD Secret clearance.
Ten (10) years’ experience with any of the following: manufacturing or production or quality assurance of optical systems.
Experience with manufacturing and quality inspection of optical sensors, laser eye protection, focal plane array, and cryogenically cooled infrared sensors.
Experience with manufacturing implementation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
Knowledge of manufacturing and quality inspection of optical systems.
Knowledge of Quality Management System implementation.
Familiar with DoDI 5000.02 Defense Acquisition System regulations and DAU weapon system development process.
Familiar with MIL-HDBK-61A Configuration Management Guidance
Travel up to 40% of the time.
Manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience working in an Army Product Manager organization.
