Under limited supervision, a Project Manager is responsiblefor the development, implementation and coordination of a variety of generalbusiness or engineering projects developing best practices and tools forproject execution and management, managing a cross functional team, providing projectcommunication, managing documentation and reporting, sharing best practice withother team member, and reporting financial performance of the project. The rolerequires general business knowledge to plan, organize, and control resources,procedures, and timing for an administrative or business process including organizingproject teams, assigning individual responsibilities, developing projectschedules, and determining resource requirements, monitoring and reporting onthe status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing, ensuring adherenceto internal and external quality standards, identifying/resolving obstacles tocompleting project on time and to budget. Duties may include managing multiple,interrelated projects. At the PMIIlevel, the incumbent applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtainedthrough advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include managingprojects or processes, working independently, and coaching and reviewing thework of lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimescomplex.


Reporting directly to Vice President Engineering, thisposition is based in Shreveport, Louisiana*.


Major Accountability:


  • Develop andexecute project plans through the effective use of cross-functional teammembers.

  • Manage projectrisks, provide optional and parallel projects paths when required.

  • Provide effective,clear communications on behalf of the project team for update andpresentations.

    Essential Job Functions:


  • Direct and manageassigned projects for the complete cycle, from project initiation throughcompletion including defining project scope; collaborate with senior managementand key stakeholders to set and meet all goals and deliverables in support ofthe project plan.

  • Developfull-scale project plans and associated communications including work planflow, detailed Gantt Chart/Pert Chart and RACI chart, as required for projectexecution.

  • Communicateproject expectations and updates to team members, management and stakeholders.

  • Estimate theresources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget proposals andrecommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.

  • As required,negotiate with other departments for acquisition of required personnel fromwithin the company. Determine and assessneed for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriaterecruitments during the project cycle.

  • Develop anddeliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, andpresentations. Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful andunsuccessful project elements.

  • Coach, mentor,motivate, influence and supervise project team members to take positive actionand accountability for assigned work.

  • Build, develop,and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.







  • Bachelor's Degreein Business or related, or experience in lieu of degree.

  • 4-7 years ofexperience with degree in project management, 8+ years of experience withoutdegree.

  • Experience withMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) required; experience withMicrosoft Project.

  • Certified in SixSigma preferred; PMP preferred.

  • Excellent peopleskills required to integrate across functional boundaries.

    Working Conditions:


  • Normal officeenvironment; required to sit or stand for extended periods.
