Technical Advisor supporting the Small Diameter Bomb Increment II (SDB II) Joint Program Office (JPO). The SDB II JPO is a Joint Air Force/Navy organization managing development, fielding and sustainment for USAF, USN, and Marine Corps combat forces' SDB (e.g. SDB II, BRU-55 & BRU-61) munition systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Effectively coordinating and integrating all aspects systems engineering Navy equities in the JPO.
Coordinating all technical matters with program stakeholders in Commodity PMAs, USMC, USAF, OPNAV and senior NAVAIR leadership.
Provide support for the sustainment and modernization of the existing SDB systems.
Provides engineering activities associated with current and planned engineering change proposals efforts.
Participate in engineering requirements management process and system design reviews.
Lead the development of JPO SOWs, CDRLs and Proposal Technical Evaluations associated with weapons/stores development and integration efforts.
Lead preparation and execution of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings and Interface Control Working Groups (ICWGs).
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A High School Diploma or GED plus 23 years of experience, an Associate's Degree plus 17 years, a Bachelor's Degree plus 15 years or a Master's Degree plus 12 years of experience is required.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months.
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Travel is required.
Ability to rent/operate rental cars while on travel.
Ability to work flexible and varied hours.
Ensuring the technical adequacy of all weapon/stores engineering products and their integration in authorized platforms.
Review program documentation for impact and opportunities related to store development, production, deployment and sustainment.
Support the SDB programs risk management, mitigation and reporting efforts.
Provide inputs and review program budgets, POM requests, spend & staffing plans.
Support SDB safety hazard management and resolution programs.
Communicate program engineering/technical staffing requirements to JPO APMEs and IPT managers.
Review NAVAIR & JPO program requirements, trade studies and risk analysis and provide PM and IPT leadership with recommended solutions to engineering issues.
DAWIA Career Field Certification in both Program Management and Systems Engineering is desired.
