SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provides technical support to manufacturing, quality and engineering departments by maintaining and developing inspection processes, testing products and recording and analyzing data during product development and manufacturing. Performs visual and dimensional product inspection under close tolerances utilizing advanced precision measurement equipment and ensures adherence to quality and engineering standards. Evaluates customer requirements and implements appropriate measurement protocols. Maintains and performs the calibration of standard mechanical measuring and recording instruments.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Quality Engineering on implementing and maintaining Quality systems to meet the requirements of production.
Supports Engineering in the root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns and customer notifications received
Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, etc.
Support training to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
Inspects weldments using visual and non-destructive testing methods.
Creates and maintains company quality documentation, such as inspection plans, quality reports etc. using Solidworks, Microsoft Office, MES etc.
Monitor and report CTQ's performance in the processes (i.e. SPC)
Serve as technical support to all measurement systems and test methods.
Creates CMM programs to measure dimensional parameters of components.
Collaborates with engineers to ensure appropriate inspection processes are in place and to improve documentation of component drawings and inspection procedures.
Performs transactions in the numerous quality systems that are related to inspection and managing non-conforming product.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
CAD, Mechanical Technology, Welding Technology or equivalent degree-A.S.

WORK EXPERIENCE
2 years' experience in a quality assurance position.
1 years of Welding and Metal Fabrication experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Solid MS Excel and MS Word experience
Strong GD T understanding
Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD programs
Programming experience with CMM systems
Familiarity with sheet metal and weld symbols

DESIRED SKILLS
Self-starter that is flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment.
Able to work with multi-functional teams
Positive attitude, flexible and good work ethic

TRAVEL
Minimal travel expected.
