The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the development and sustainability of Quality Management System (QMS) that aligns with the required industry standards (ISO 9001/IATF 16949). Works with all departments to write procedures and processes to support the QMS. Lead and undertake audits across all areas of the business as well as the supply chain. Facilitate root cause and countermeasure activity to ensure all nonconformities raised during internal/external audits are effectively corrected and verified. Provide training and champion continuous improvement throughout the company.
Major Duties & Responsibilities

Duty or Activity
Perform activity to sustain Quality Management Systems necessary for continued registration to ISO and IATF standards. Includes but not limited to document/procedure control, creation and maintenance; internal auditing and nonconformance writing; facilitate effective root cause and countermeasure activity to include corrective/preventive actions.
Work with other NS North American companies to implement and maintain a corporate QMS Strategy to align processes and procedures. Conduct audits at other NS facilities.
Monitors Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) to ensure that we are compliant with current and aware of new/revised requirements. When applicable assist departments with implementation of CSR into their processes.
Analyze trends and work with functional areas to identify root cause of noncomformances and assist in the direction of appropriate action plans. Track, monitor, review and close all findings issued from internal/external audits. Review the actions taken to determine effectiveness.
Active participation in defining inspection requirements, acceptance limits and inspection plans to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Review quality documents such as Control Plans and FMEAs to ensure they are updated and compliant with CSR to include AIAG Automotive Core Tools.
Identify areas for improvement to further enhance processes throughout NSII. Implement approved changes using quality principles and document requirements on a timely basis. Provide support to other departments for continous improvement activity related to QMS. Education, Experience, Knowledge and other information
Minimum: Bachelors Degree or equivalent training and experience
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in an engineering / science related field or equivalent.
Minimum: 3 years of experience within a manufacturing QMS organization. 5 years of experience within a manufacturing organization.Demonstrated experience with proven root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Preferred: 5 years QMS and EMS organization experience. 7 years automotive manufacturing experience. Internal Auditor experience
Special Training or Competency:
Minimum: Must have effective interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to analyze and interpret data from various processes and/or departments to identify gaps and nonconformities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office including Word, Excel. And Visio. Strong understanding and experience in Root Cause Analysis
Preferred: Internal Auditor Training, QMS or IATF certification is preferred. Ability to interpret and implement standards and requirements. Strong understanding and experience in Root Cause Analysis and ability to train in the concepts when required. Knowledge of automotive core tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC. Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and TQM

May travel to other NSNA locations or for training, internationally and domestically.
